Print Pre-Submission Contests

1. Yearbook – Any yearbook layout created between Aug. 1 to Oct. 29, 2021
2. Newspaper – Any one page newspaper layout created between Aug. 1 to Oct. 29, 2021 (Newspaper staffs can only enter either the newspaper category or the newsmagazine category and should do so based on their format)
3. Newsmagazine – any two page newspaper spread created between Aug.1 to Oct. 29, 2021 (Newspaper staffs can only enter either the newspaper category or the newsmagazine category and should do so based on their format)
4. Literary Magazine – any two page literary magazine spread created between April 1 to Oct. 29, 2021

Only PDFs will be accepted. The form will ask you to sign into a Google account before allowing you to upload. File Uploads will be limited to 10 MB. DEADLINE: Tuesday, November 2 at Noon. Submit entries here, using this link.

Print Quick-Turn Contests

Prompts will be released on Thursday, October 28 at 8 AM.  Advisers have until Tuesday, November 2 at Noon to submit. One entry per registered print publication (All staffs eligible for Social Media Challenge: Instagram Contest). If more than four students work on an entry, any award certificates will be listed as “staff.”

1. Yearbook Spread (article, photos, layout) (yearbook staffs only) – Prompt: Room Decor (either student room decor or school room decor)
2. Newspaper Spread/Double Truck (article, photos, layout) (newspaper staffs only) – Prompt: Mask Mandates & Vaccines
3. Infographic (any print staff) – Prompt: Florida Environmental Issues
4. Photography: Photo Illustration (any print staff) – Prompt: Student Artist
5. Photography: Candid (any print staff) (requires a caption be added to photo’s metadata) – Prompt: In the front office
6. Feature Writing: Profile (any print staff)– Prompt: A Day in the Life of… (you choose someone to feature)
7. Poetry Writing: (any print staff)– Prompt: In your rearview mirror
8. Editorial Writing (any print staff) – Prompt: Censorship of Student Journalists
9. Social Media Challenge: Instagram (any print or broadcast staff) – Prompt: Fall in Florida (pumpkins, Halloween, costumes, leaves, etc.)
10. Multimedia Story Challenge (any print staff) – Prompt: CTE Programs at your school (Career Technology – culinary, DECA, digital info tech, Hospitality, Engineering, JROTC, etc.)

Only PDFs will be accepted for the yearbook spread, newspaper spread, and infographic categories. Only jpegs will be accepted for photography categories. Only PDFs will have be accepted for the writing contests. The form will ask you to sign into a Google account before allowing you to upload. File Uploads will be limited to 10 MB. Instagram accounts must be set to public for the purpose of the contest. Multimedia Story Challenge has to be submitted as a weblink to a final multimedia package that is published online. Broadcast Quick-Turn Contests

Prompts will be released on Thursday, October 28 at 8 AM.  Advisers have until Tuesday, November 2 at NOON to submit via Youtube Link.

1. News/Feature – Prompt: Halloween Traditions – Time Limit – 1:30 -2:00 – see rubric below
2. Commentary – Prompt: Are teenagers too old to trick-or-treat? – Max time: 1:30 – see rubric below
3. PSA – Prompt: Plastic – 30 seconds exactly – see rubric below
4. Film – Prompt: How to Have a Conversation – Time Limit – 1:15-1:30 – see rubric below
5. Social Media Challenge: Instagram – see prompt above in “Print Quick-Turn Contests.” This is the ONLY contest that all print and broadcast staffs can enter.

• Late submissions will be disqualified from placing for an award.
• There is to be NO COPYRIGHTED material used.
